What Moz Domain Authority Means
Domain Authority, often shortened to DA, is a Moz metric that estimates how likely a domain is to rank in search results compared with other domains. It is reported on a 0 to 100 scale. Page Authority, or PA, applies a similar model to a specific page or URL.
DA and PA are comparative SEO metrics, not official search engine scores. They are most useful for comparing domains, watching trends over time, and deciding when a deeper backlink or content review is needed.
What This Tool Checks
When Moz API credentials are configured, the tool requests Moz URL Metrics for Domain Authority, Page Authority, Moz Rank, linking domains, and total links. The Laravel tool also checks DNS records, name servers, homepage HTTP status, title, meta description, canonical URL, robots directives, security headers, robots.txt, and sitemap hints.
How to Use the Result
Use the Moz metrics as a relative authority signal. Then review the local diagnostics to find practical issues that can affect crawling and ranking, such as missing metadata, blocked indexing, weak canonical signals, incomplete DNS, missing security headers, or unavailable homepage responses.
Important Limitations
Moz metrics depend on Moz data and API access. If credentials are unavailable or the API does not return data, this tool clearly marks Moz metrics as unavailable and shows local diagnostics instead. Do not treat local diagnostics as a replacement for DA or PA; they are complementary checks that help explain readiness and crawlability.
Moz Domain Authority, Page Authority, Moz Rank, linking domains, and total links are third-party indicators from Moz. They are useful for comparison and trend monitoring, but they should be reviewed alongside first-party data from Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, analytics, crawl reports, content quality, and backlink audits.
