The AAAA record type of the DNS is a 128-bit IPv6 address that maps to a hostname. It is analogous to the A-record of the IPv4 address. The AAAA record maps a hostname to an IPv6 address to allow Internet to find a computer from it's name. You may use multiple AAAA records to the same subdomain to provide redundancy.
