Roman Numerals
Roman Numerals use 7 basic symbols, and each represents a specific number. However, depending on the order where the symbols are placed determines whether you add or subtract the values. The numbers are written from Left to Right, and if one or more letters are placed after a letter of a greater value, you add. If the the number comes before a letter of greater value, you subtract. For example, XI (X=10, I=1) represents 11 while IX represents 9.
